David Blandy (1976, Lives & works in Brighton) is an artist and roleplay game designer whose work spans film, installation, performance and digital culture. His practice investigates identity, heritage, and the influence of gaming and popular media, often using collaborative and narrative-led approaches to question how personal and collective stories are shaped.
Blandy works across sites and spaces, collaborating on workshops and projects with diverse groups to create art and games. Recent projects include: The Strain commissioned by Serpentine Gallery; Lost Eons commissioned by Cambridge Biomedical Campus & Future City and Visions of the Deep Past commissioned by Brent Biennial.
He collaborates with other artists such as Daniel Locke for the commission Dawn After Night, Spring After Winter for Nature Calling; with Larry Achiampong for their first museum exhibition, Genetic Automata at the Wellcome Collection, London; and with Petra Széman on their touring exhibition, Our Ghosts, Our Shells.
His most recent work Commons, is a Film & Video Umbrella commission for The Amelia, Kent. The exhibition encompassed a film, installation and game publication. His new game book with Daniel Locke, Islands of Weirdhope will be published in autumn 2026.
