Screening programme linked to the thematics of Latifa Echakhch's exhibition: "Le jardin mécanique" on artificial landscapes, decorum and theater scenes.

In 1918, Prince Albert I commissioned Gabriel Fauré to create a short suite for a lyrical comedy. Fauré cameup with a booklet called “Masques et Bargamasques” inspired by Paul Verlaine’s poem Claire de Lune.

Tristes sous leurs déguisements fantasques. [...]

This program offers a selection of videos dealing with the question of landscape both as an artificial sceneryand as the frame of an exotic and romantic representation of the territory.
